Kinmen Storefronts

金門店青

This work comprises of a collection of the old storefronts that can still be found throughout the Taiwanese-governed island of Kinmen. Many are boarded up, but most are still operational.

These small businesses, with their hand-painted shop signs and chaotic, outdoor arrangements of stock tend to thrive in Asia on a scale rarely seen throughout the UK and make for a much more interesting shopping experience and greater sense of community than the sad, gray, copy-paste high-streets that dominate your typical British town.
